Our Last Week in Chicagoland

Yesterday was an emotional day as we said our "Godspeeds" to First Christian Church in Downers Grove. The choir and congregation sang with enthusiasm, and at the end of worship, we were "blessed" by the Pastor and Elders. Then, to top it all off, the church threw a "Reception Celebration" complete with all of our favorite things (milk chocolate, diet pepsi, strawberry dessert, and a beautiful "music" cake). The church was extremely generous by giving us a going away gift including a beautiful photo of the cross in the sanctuary at FCCDG.

So, this week has already been an experience to remember...and it's only just begun! :)

Megan is diligently working on her 3rd grade musical ("The Mighty Meter Gnome") which will be presented the night before we hit the road. She is feeling somewhat better after several weeks of crumminess. B. J. is diligently working to get the final preparations done with the boxes, moving company, and cats (they are not too excited about us putting their toys in boxes...so, the boxes have become their toys)!!!

We are extremely excited to hit the road...but we know that we have to take time to enjoy all of it as it goes by. Sometimes life goes by so quickly that it feels as if it is just happening to you...it's in those moments that we remember to LIVE life to its fullest. Sooo...we went to Potbelly Subs for the last time last night and made a friend who offered to have his picture taken to help us "remember Chicago". His name is Manuel...if you see him at Potbelly in Buffalo Grove, IL...say hello! :)

Visalia - - we'll see you soon!!!!

Your gonna need to get some portillos for the road. Probably some potbelly's too. Actually, you might also want to stash an uno's pizza in the back of the car for that first night. Also, you should bring me too.
